History
Barcelona FC was founded on 6 October 1899 by a group of Swiss, English and Catalan footballers who had come to Spain to play in the Campeonato de España. The first match they played was a friendly against local team Alcolea and it took place at their home ground, Les Corts. They won by 3-2 with 5 goals from their captain Josep Samitier (the club's first captain).
The side's colours are red and blue, which are also the colours of Catalonia's national flag; its crest features three vertical stripes depicting Catalonia’s three traditional provinces – Barcelona, Tarragona and Girona – whilst its badge features two crossed swords representing its military past.[4]

The name Camp Nou means "thousand" or "million", which refers to its capacity as well as its location: at 2 ha (5 acres) it's one of Europe's largest football stadiums. The official name is simply El Camp de la Indústria Cultural i Sportiva (Cultural Industry and Sports Complex), but everyone calls it El Camp Nou for short.
The colors of the club are red and blue.
